--Institute Overview--
Using tools from cell biology, genetics, developmental biology, and other disciplines, our institute explores the functional genomics of model organisms, the structure and function of genes and cells, as well as mechanisms of development and inheritance. In addition to enriching students' knowledge and skills in professional cell biology, we emphasize fundamental expertise in various key research areas of our university. This approach equips students with excellent interdisciplinary collaboration and independent research capabilities.
Supported by the teaching and research capabilities of the College of Life Sciences and the College of Medicine, and through collaboration with various research centers at the university level, our institute aligns with the university's development goals. Cell biology has become one of the fastest-growing cutting-edge disciplines in contemporary biological sciences.
Our master's program boasts outstanding faculty and state-of-the-art facilities, aiming to attract more talent into fundamental cell biology research, thereby becoming a crucial cornerstone for the future development of biomedical technology in the nation.
According to recent US News reports, our university's research performance in molecular and cell biology fields is already leading domestically. Notably, in the 2021-2022 US News rankings for "Cell Biology," our university was ranked number "1" in Taiwan.
Fundamental life sciences are a crucial cornerstone for the development of biomedical science and a stable foundation for our university's future development of integrated Western and traditional Chinese medicine and translational medicine. To align with the university's long-term development plan and to cultivate talent in basic biomedical science research, we propose the establishment of the "Graduate Institute of Cell Biology" under the College of Life Sciences.
